For Larger species at full adult stage (around the 6-10 inch size-or above) TropicZone Stage-5 Adult Turtle Diet is the perfect food source for nonbreeding adults. For these larger more sedentary adult turtles, being at the end of their growth cycle, proteins are dropped further to 30% and fats down to 6%. Proteins are based more now on plant sources but still contain about 20-25% protein from animal sources. Pellet sizes are increased slightly to 3/16-1/4 inches to account for final adult sizing and to prevent waste. Larger Gammarus shrimp, dried mealworms, dried black fly larva, and cuttlebone bits are still included as an additional source of nutrients and activity for the turtles. Generally full adult turtles on the TropicZone Stage-5 Diet are fed 1 time daily, depending on activity level, in amounts they can consume within 2-3 minutes.
